Outlook for Real Estate Finance in the UK – Morning Seminar

This seminar will explore the current state of the property market in the UK and consider the relative market risks of the major countries and cities in 2019 from a lender’s perspective.

The speakers will identify the economic and real estate trends that the industry should look out for in the coming year.  The first presentation, from a UK economist, will address the main economic influences affecting the UK and in a European context the outlook for employment, output, inflation and interest rates: when will the Bank of England and ECB aim to normalise monetary policy, what will determine the paths of interest rates, what will be the impact of the rise in the Euro on European trade and of course Brexit, how can the risks be quantified?

This will be followed by a real estate market presentation looking at the prospects for individual countries and cities and identifying the risks from a lender’s perspective: are all European real estate markets now over-priced, will rents grow in 2018 and, what will happen to property cap rates if interest rates rise?

Following the presentations, panellists will debate the implications of the economic and property market outlook for their strategies in 2019 and discuss non-economic and market drivers affecting those strategies and the sector more broadly.
